About The Founder
As salamu alaykum, my name is Anis Murgic, and I am the founder and CEO of Obligation Clothing. I started this brand at 17 with the hope of making a more sustainable future. But we needed more. not just another clothing brand, but a clothing brand surrounded by a community of people that the prophet Muhammad said were the best among the people, a community of Muslims that I knew I could trust to help me make a better future for us all. So I created Obligation Clothing, the first Muslim-based sustainable street wear brand.
Our Ethical Approach
The mills that we work with adhere to a standard known as SA 800, which stands for Social Accountability Management System, as well as FLO, which stands for Fairtrade Labeling Organization. Both of these organizations are committed to alleviating the poverty that affects the vast majority of the world's farmers and workers by establishing and certifying the compliance of stringent, socially conscious production standards.
